Our Client is currently seeking an Engineering Technician to join our team in Palo Alto, CA. You will be working in the lab on assembly efforts for cabling, chassis, and the test racks. You will be working alongside the design team to ensure our equipment is built in a reliable and robust fashion prior to moving it into production.
Responsibilities
Perform cable, printed circuit board (PCB), chassis, and system level assembly
Perform any electrical test, troubleshooting and modifications to the design, under that direction of engineers and more senior employees
Update and release schematics and other engineering documentation
Participates in 5S and other local and company-wide projects
Minimum Requirements
Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
Formal Electronics Education
Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings (schematics)
Ability to assemble chassis, printed circuit boards and prototype boards (perf boards) using a variety of electronics-orientated hand tools
Strong soldering skills (wire, component, surface mount)
Ability to use a digital multi meter (DMM) and other Lab Equipment needed to troubleshoot and verify the operation of components and wiring
Basic computer skills for communication, drawing viewing/printing, reading of lists and documents (i.e. Microsoft Office)
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
Ability to accommodate occasional overtime
Preferred Qualifications
NASA soldering certified
5+ years of relevant experience
Ability to work from partial details (hand sketches and/or incomplete drawings) and communicate with design engineer to wire
Experience with metal/fiberglass fabrication, including cutting, punching, drilling using hand and machine tools
Experience generating and releasing basic Engineering Drawings
