KBR's National Security Solutions team provides high-end engineering and advanced technology solutions to our customers in the intelligence and national security communities. In this position, your work will have a profound impact on the country's most critical role - protecting our national security. KBR is seeking a Buyer for the Intel Division of the National Security Solutions (NSS)-US Business Unit, which supports a Team at the Naval Research Laboratory (NRL-DC) Spacecraft Engineering Division (SED). The Buyer will have the authority to conduct procurement actions on behalf of KBR utilizing a government-approved procurement system. The Procurement organization operates in a dynamic, cross-functional environment. This role will be the primary liaison between KBR internal customers and suppliers/teammates. As a KBR Buyer, you will be responsible for the supplier purchasing process from start to finish, including, but not limited to, leading the development of procurement specifications, work statements, acquisition planning, and developing the appropriate contract vehicles for moderately complex procurements of specialized systems, equipment, materials, and services. Travel Requirements: Up to 25%
Working Hours: Core hour support required Key Responsibilities: Prepare bid packages, issue solicitations, analyze and evaluate proposals, negotiate contractual requirements, administer purchase orders, manage supplier performance, and ensure timely invoice payments
Drive risk mitigation activities
Ensure compliance with company policies, legal, and regulatory requirements
Support internal customer requirements
Assists with any supplier-related issues Required: Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, or related discipline from an accredited college or university
Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance (US Citizen)
2 + years of relevant experience
In lieu of education requirements, candidates with 10 years of relevant experience will be considered
Working knowledge of MS Office Suite - M365 (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with peers, suppliers, and customers and contribute to a professional work environment by demonstrating integrity, teamwork, and a positive attitude
Strong communication skills Desired: Active Secret Security Clearance is preferred.
Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and government procurement processes and regulations
Experience developing requests for proposals, evaluating bids, and managing supplier performance
