Optomi in partnership with a financial service company are seeking a Business Systems Developer with strong analytical and technical capabilities to support and enhance mission-critical loan origination and decision engine platforms. This role bridges business needs with technical execution, focusing on system configuration, rule-based logic, and implementation of changes that drive strategic lending operations.
As a key technical resource, you'll work across business operations, IT, risk, finance, pricing, and modeling teams to translate business requirements into scalable, well-structured system configurations. Responsibilities of the Right Candidate:
- Review project documentation to understand business goals and identify technical solutions.
- Configure and implement rule-based logic in loan origination and decision engine platforms.
- Collaborate with IT, analytics, risk, and finance teams to gather requirements and ensure successful implementation.
- Translate business policies into system logic, configurations, and test plans.
- Support testing and deployment of business system changes, ensuring minimal risk to operations.
- Identify opportunities for optimization and automation within the systems landscape.
- Provide production support and troubleshooting expertise for system-related issues.
- Document technical configurations and changes for transparency and future reference.

Qualifications of the Right Candidate:
Core Experience and Abilities:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Information Systems, MIS, Finance, or Business Administration.
- Proven experience working with business system configurations or rule-based logic tools (e.g., Defi LOS, FICO DMP).
- Ability to review and interpret policies or program documents to assess system impact.
- Strong communication skills to articulate technical changes to non-technical audiences.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills-able to handle multiple projects and pivot quickly.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with an understanding of potential system impacts.
- Core Technical Skills:Working knowledge of SQL, Postman, and Snowflake.
- Experience or familiarity with Groovy, Python, API creation, and Pentaho.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Word, Access).
- Comfort with mathematical and financial logic, such as interest rates, amortization schedules, and basic P&L models.
- Experience working in an Agile environment.
- Understanding of or interest in auto finance business is a plus.
- Knowledge or certifications in FICO Originations Manager or Decision Management Platform is a bonus.
