Overview The City of Gresham is offering an exciting opportunity to join the Information Technology department to fill a full-time position as a Business Systems Analyst. The Business Systems Analyst collaborates with internal teams and stakeholders, to provide business process evaluation and improvement. The incumbent will have the opportunity to help the city implement and leverage the functionality of new and existing systems, like the City's Enterprise Resource Planning System (ERP), learning management system, business intelligence, reporting and data visualizations. This position performs technical system analysis and project support to help align business objectives with the City's strategic technology goals.

Come build the future with us.Position Description The Business Systems Analyst performs a range of functions in support of technical systems and business objectives. In this role, you will serve as a project coordinator, help implement new systems, support operations and modify new or current systems.
The Business Systems Analyst will work with the other analysts to coordinate and facilitate maintenance and support tasks and to manage system updates and research new functionality.
We are seeking an individual who can work independently as well as collaboratively within a team. You will use effective communication skills to interact with multiple city departments and other City of Gresham staff to provide a high level of customer service.
This position requires someone with an aptitude for learning, active listening skills, and the ability to effectively relay information in non-technical terms to end users. You will be documenting business processes and writing technical reports. Acting as a bridge between business units, you will identify software, and application needs and gather information on technical requirements needed to support business processes improvement.
Coordinating and executing the analysis, design, reporting, installation and maintenance of program applications will be typical responsibilities of your daily work. You will serve as a subject matter expert coordinate the work of others in the workgroup. These processes will be conducted in a fast-paced, high-volume environment which necessitates priority shifting and adaptability

- Analyze business processes to identify opportunities for efficiency. Make recommendations for improvements that can be accomplished through new technology or alternative uses of existing technology. Use fundamental technical troubleshooting abilities to optimize and enhance systems.
- Define project requirements:
- Act as liaison between business stakeholders, customers/vendors/end users, and technical staff. Analyze and communicate stakeholder needs by translating business requirements into technical needs.
- Report and test:
- Develop benchmarks, gather metrics, create and analyze reports. Contribute to quality assurance tests, strategies and plans.
- Maintain protocols and procedures:
- Develop specifications, diagrams, flowcharts, technical reports and system protocols. Provide references for users by writing and maintaining user documentation and training materials.

Work schedule/environment: The current schedule for this position is hybrid. Employees work on-site/in the office for a minimum of two days per week. At this time, the City of Gresham is reviewing a return-to-office (RTO) policy which may increase on-site requirements with notice. Qualifications The ideal candidate will need a clear understanding of business principles/processes and how they relate to business systems. Familiarity with data analysis, project/program management, and process evaluation will be necessary as will a genuine interest in maintaining technical aptitude and knowledge. Gathering information, analyzing requirements, learning the business needs and making recommendations, while understanding how that relates to business objectives and service delivery.

Minimum Qualifications: Any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the job. A typical way to obtain knowledge and abilities would be:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, management information systems, public administration, business administration or related field.
- One year of related, progressively responsible experience.
Any combination of qualifying education, training, and experience equivalent to 5-8 years will be considered.Preferred Qualifications: - Good foundation for troubleshooting, problem solving and process improvement.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 productivity suite (Teams, SharePoint, PowerBI, Power Platform,Office apps, etc.)
- Strong familiarity with technology and change, particularly evergreen software solutions
- Collaborative and team-oriented
- Ability to work independently and within a group with minimal direction
