Business Systems AnalystThe University of Illinois Foundation is the official fundraising and private gift-receiving organization of the University of Illinois. It works closely with alumni and friends, faculty and staff, corporations and foundations, as well as campus development professionals to create fundraising programs and opportunities that benefit the University.
We are seeking a Business Systems Analyst to develop comprehensive business solutions by implementing, enhancing, and testing various software applications. This role requires a strong understanding of the software development life cycle and the ability to support business applications in specific functional areas. This is a hybrid position with a requirement to be in the office 3 days per week.
The analyst will troubleshoot issues, gather requirements for enhancements, and drive improvements in processes, systems, or applications. As a primary contact for designated areas, this position will focus on issue resolution and system configuration on a day-day basis. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting and optimizing the systems and processes of the University of Illinois Foundation. Experience supporting enterprise-level CRM software is very beneficial.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Facilitate meetings between business and technical areas to understand and document operational tasks and to design solutions that enhance business processes. Also, serve as a liaison between the vendor and internal staff.
- Apply various methods to gather and analyze advancement business and system requirements. Create functional documentation that outlines business processes, requirements and direction on how to best utilize advancement systems.
- Troubleshoot issues, perform data analysis, propose solutions, test fixes or workarounds, and communicate solution to end user in a timely manner.
- Work closely with business partners to build use cases, functional test cases and test scripts. Execute test scripts to validate & test software functionality and work to resolve issues.
- Build expertise in UIF enterprise systems to be able to configure software to support business processes.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree required with preference for Business Administration, Management Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science or related field
- Minimum of two years of experience in a position within a professional environment
- Strong facilitation skills with experience leading diverse groups towards resolution
- Ability to represent/communicate technical requirements and trade-offs in a business environment to facilitate effective decision making
- Proven capacity to understand complex business and technical concepts
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to adjust content based on the audience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Two years of experience in a Business Systems Analyst role
Hands-on experience creating business process diagrams and documentation
Experience with an enterprise CRM software solution such as Blackbaud CRM
Proficiency with SQL
An understanding of advancement concepts and processes
Experience in Higher Education or a complex organization

The starting salary range for this position is projected to be $75,000 - $88,000 per year. While our job postings include salary ranges, your compensation will be based on your specific experience and qualifications-we're not limited by these posted ranges.
