Business Solutions Analyst II

Summary Description:

The Business Solutions Analyst II performs business and systems analysis in support to the financial department. Job functions include root cause analysis, business process review, requirements solicitation, solution design, implementation, solution delivery, testing, training, data management, and documentation. The analyst provides data collection, analytics, file manipulation, and reporting on business operations and data import/extracts. The Business Solutions Analyst II supports the delivery of data initiatives across multiple teams and is a supporting resource for data governance best practices and business process improvement.
Representative Duties:

• Provide data management, analysis, reporting, requirements definition, documentation, and testing in support of business initiatives and accepted intake requests

• Work directly with stakeholders to gather requirements, user stories, success criteria, and test cases

• Manage responsibilities to ensure analysis results, defined requirements, reports generated and data tools maintenance support effective and accurate decision making

• Track, trend, and analyze data to report to Western Health Advantage's managers in support of operational dashboard metrics

• Verify accuracy and completeness of data by developing and implementing quality control procedures

• Prepare reports with accurate data analysis, calculation of value measures, and graphical displays

• Set up, build and maintain data extracts in support of various business units. Examples include enrollment, claims, and accumulator files

• Develop and implement predictive models and machine learning algorithms to solve business challenges

• Provide back-up support for business analysis team members as requested

• Suggest process improvements and optimize existing workflow for better efficiency and accuracy

• Support data and Companion Guide creation, testing, and management needs in support of annual Covered CA testing and the WHA Open Enrollment Period(s)

• Develop clear reports and visualizations to guide business decisions and strategy

• Create appropriate documentation for all new and/or revised procedures and instructions

• Keep leadership, team members, and internal customers informed of project and individual task status as needed

• Serve as a business end to end domain expert documenting related business processes and recommend process improvements

• Test and perform quality assurance tasks

• Keep abreast of regulatory requirements, new techniques, and technologies as they relate to the healthcare industry business analysis and data analytics best practices

• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned
Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline

• 5 years' experience working in a related role in the health care industry, specifically HMO, is a plus

• 5 years' experience working with a reporting platform (Crystal, Cognos, Tableau, etc.)

• Basic SQL ability to write and execute queries with outer joins

• Intermediate to advance knowledge of SQL or PL/SQL is a plus

• Working knowledge of one or more standard data formats is a plus (ANSI X12, FHIR, PAL, etc.)

• Experience with financial modeling and data visualization tools

• Must be able to utilize intermediate features of software packages (word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.)

• Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
Salary:

$75,000.00 -$100,000.00 annually
