Summary:
WideTrial is a healthcare technology startup with a nimble team, a large federally-funded contract, and a mission to expand access to the medicines in clinical trials for ALL people dealing with serious or life-threatening diseases. We do this through a combination of proprietary technology and specialized clinical operations services. WideTrial now seeks an adaptable, multi-skilled professional who can take over much of the company's internal functions ie HR, accounts payable, document management, systems, and equipment. The role is ideal for an ambitious professional with a voracious appetite for learning who seeks to expand his/her skill-set in a fast-paced company.
The Business Operations manager will work in the company's office space adjacent to Santana Row, in a team of 6 people, some of whom are fully on-site; others are 2-3 days WFH per week. But this role is primarily on-site with occasional WFH days as needed.
The responsibilities combine leadership in some areas and support in others. The right candidate will gradually take on additional responsibilities in a function of his/her interest eg "Marketing", "Finance", or "New Product" and over time gain seniority in (or lead) that functional department of the company.
Immediate Responsibilities:
- Manage company's information architecture (document libraries, templates, policies, style guides, etc.)
- Business communications support (creative development/composition of proposals and reports)
- Public communications support (publication through various channels, including website and social media)
- Manage company's productivity and project management systems (Slack, SharePoint, SmartSheet, etc)
- Manage office space and equipment
- Manage all vendor invoices, payments, and payment relationships
- Coordinate with company's third-party accounting, tax-prep, and banking teams
- Coordinate with company's legal, payroll, office lease, state registration, and other essential services
- Perform basic Human Resources tasks involving on-boarding new W2s and contractors
Qualifications:
- A serious interest in healthcare, clinical research, or related software technology
- 5+ years professional work experience
- Bachelors degree or higher from an accredited university
- Ability to get things done independently
- Natural problem-solving skills
- Excellent grammar and writing capabilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office apps required
- Helpful but not required: Proficiency in SmartSheet, SharePoint, and/or QuickBooks
- Helpful but not required: Proficiency in Rippling payroll management
