The Business Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing and enhancing the operational functions of schools within the district. This role ensures the smooth running of all non-instructional services, enabling educators to focus on teaching and students on learning. The coordinator collaborates with school leaders, district administrators, and external partners to implement best practices and optimize resources.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Leadership:
- Oversee daily operations across multiple school sites.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all operational activities.
- Ensure compliance with district policies, state and federal regulations.
- Address operational concerns and feedback from parents, students, and staff.
Facilities Management:
- Coordinate maintenance, repairs, and improvements of school facilities.
- Ensure safety and security protocols are in place and regularly reviewed.
- Manage space utilization and facility scheduling.
Transportation and Logistics:
- Manage transportation services, ensuring timely and safe transport of students.
- Coordinate logistics for school events and activities.
- Optimize routes and schedules to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
Technology and Data Management:
- Oversee the implementation and maintenance of school technology infrastructure.
- Ensure data integrity and security in all operational systems.
- Utilize data to inform decision-making and improve operational effectiveness.
School Safety Plans:
- Develop and maintain comprehensive school safety plans.
- Ensure all schools have up-to-date emergency protocols and safety measures.
- Regularly review and update safety plans to address new threats and vulnerabilities.
Emergency and Crisis Management:
- Develop and implement emergency response plans and procedures.
- Conduct regular drills and training for staff and students.
- Ensure all safety drills, including fire, tornado, and active shooter drills, are conducted according to regulations and schedules.
- Act as a point of contact for emergency services and coordinate response efforts.
School Sponsor Site Visits:
- Coordinate and facilitate site visits from school sponsors and other external stakeholders.
- Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations showcasing school operations and achievements.
- Ensure all site visits run smoothly and address any issues promptly.
District Events and Professional Development:
- Organize and set up for district events and professional development sessions.
- Ensure all logistical aspects of events are managed efficiently.
- Collaborate with event planners and district staff to ensure successful outcomes.
Oversight and Training of Custodians:
- Provide oversight and training for custodial staff to ensure high standards of cleanliness and maintenance.
- Develop training programs to enhance the skills and efficiency of custodial staff.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and implement improvement plans as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Education Administration, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in school operations or a similar role.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in data analysis and budget management.
- Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations.
