Business Operations Analyst - Baseball Teams

What you'll do:
Analytics & Reporting
- Assist CFO in building and responsible for maintaining team dashboards to track financial and operational KPIs
- Review financial statements produced by outsourced accountants and flag discrepancies or variances to CFO
- Compile and analyze monthly financial and operational data across teams
- Prepare budget variance reports and performance summaries
- Help identify trends and provide actionable insights to team leadership and ownership group
Operational Support
- Support the development and documentation of operating playbooks and SOPs
- Complete business applications, vendor forms, and onboarding documentation
- Help ensure compliance with internal policies and Pioneer league requirements
- Coordinate with team staff to implement and monitor standard processes
- Responsible for setting up new entities to support baseball team formation
- Assist with set up and ongoing upkeep of IBPs CRM.
Administrative & Project Assistance
- Track and help manage deadlines for licensing, insurance renewals, and compliance filings
- Assist with vendor management, contract filing, and invoice tracking
- Support cross-team initiatives such as sponsorship activations, staff onboarding and merchandise access, and season readiness
- Evaluation of possible new markets and related market research and due diligence.
- Provide hands-on operational support as needed, including documentation, research, and follow-ups
Who you are:
- Experienced, with 2-4 years in business operations, financial analysis, or a similar function, startup and / or sports management experience preferred.
- Highly proficient in Excel or Google Sheets, and comfortable analyzing and manipulating data
- Educated, holding a bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or a related field
- Exceptionally detail-oriented, holding yourself to high standards in both accuracy and follow-through
- Relentlessly execution-focused-you take full ownership and see tasks through to completion, no matter how big or small
- Skilled at juggling multiple projects and priorities with minimal supervision
- Incredibly resourceful, self-directed, and energized by solving problems and improving processes
The position is primarily remote (in Bay Area or LA metro) with monthly sessions with ownership in Palo Alto. A valid authorization to work in the U.S. is required.
The compensation range for this position is $80,000 to $100,000 a year, depending on experience, education, geographic location.
