Job Summary We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Business Office Manager to oversee the daily operations of our office. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing business office functions, including insurance verifications, Medicaid applications, and family consultations. This role is crucial to ensuring the smooth coordination with our Admissions office and the well-being of our residents.
Key Responsibilities - Verify insurance coverage and patient demographics to ensure accuracy of billing information.
- Help resident and families of residents to apply for and update their status in Medicaid.
- Review and appeal denied authorizations.
- Follow up on outstanding accounts receivable to ensure prompt payment.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of insurance regulations and guidelines.
- Communicate effectively with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers regarding billing and payment issues.
- Provide excellent customer service and support to patients regarding their insurance billing inquiries.
- Collaborate with the billing team and other departments to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
Qualifications - Proven experience as a Health Insurance Billing and Collections Specialist or similar role in the healthcare industry.
- In-depth knowledge of health insurance billing procedures, regulations, and coding.
- A strong understanding of Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance billing regulations is essential.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and understanding of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in using billing software and electronic health records (EHR) systems is highly desirable
- Certification in medical billing and coding (e.g., CPC, CCS-P) is preferred but not required.
