Position Description
Education Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Some formal training in accounting or finance preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of two years experience in a position which required application and understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting and use of automated systems.
Required Skills:
Knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting and automated accounting systems
The ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government and other officials
Knowledgeable of laws, regulations and guidelines pertaining to the nursing home and long-term care administrative procedures
Able to communicate with geriatric patients
Should be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position
Ability to work independently, have flexibility, personal integrity and the ability to work effectively with residents, personnel and support agencies
Ideal candidate must be capable of problem-solving and decision-making
Physical Demands:
Intermittent movement including bending, stooping, lifting, reaching, throughout the work day
Frequently seated at a desk working with a computer
Must be able to relate to and work with the ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset and at times hostile people within the facility.
