The Canton Public Schools is seeking an exceptional and dynamic candidate to serve as the Business Office Assistant- Transportation and Building Rental to start immediately. Job Summary

Assists in the administration of the department by performing highly responsible administrative and clerical functions including, building rental, transportation coordination and school based fees online payment system.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES (include but are not limited to):

  1. Essential member of the finance and operations team
  2. Participates in team meetings
  3. Coordinates all facets of district-wide building and grounds rental;
  4. Coordinates building use requests;
    1. Works closely with Building Head Custodian to assign outside custodial detail;
    2. Liaison with Facilities Manager, Principals;
    3. Creates, distributes and follows up with invoices to customers
    4. Maintains files and necessary data around building rental
    5. Responds to inquiries, questions and concerns regarding building rental
  5. Coordinates district wide transportation
    1. Acts as the point of contact for all transportation matters with transportation companies, administrators, and families
    2. Creates and sends out bus passes to families
    3. Responds to all transportation related questions and concerns
    4. Handles the invoicing and collection of bus fees
  6. Coordinates and supports the processing of online school based fees such as transportation, student fees, activity fees, and others
  7. Supports the Assistant Superintendent of Finance and Operations in other projects as assigned
Qualifications:
  1. High School Diploma required; Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance or related field preferred;
  2. Proven ability to work in a polite and friendly manner with many different publics
  3. Demonstrated aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities
  4. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  5. Well-organized and detail oriented
  6. Exceptional interpersonal and presentation skills
  7. Working knowledge of relevant technologies: internet and email systems; word processing, presentation, and spreadsheet software; and educational software
  8. Employment-based on successful completion of CORI and fingerprinting background
  9. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the school department may find appropriate and acceptable

Compensation: Starting hourly rate per the AFSCME Administrative Contract for SY 24-25 school year is $26.95-$32.10 per hour.
