Position Information Job Title Business Manager Department Office of Practice Pay Grade 11 Job Category Administrative Job Summary East Tennessee State University, College of Nursing, is seeking a Business Manager for the Office of Practice at the Johnson City Community Health Center (JCCHC), a state-of-the-art facility on par with any of its kind in the United States. Funded by a generous grant from the U.S. Department of Health Resources and Services Administration, it was established through the vision of leaders at ETSU, the College of Nursing and the College of Clinical and Rehabilitative Health Sciences, all of whom are dedicated to providing access to basic health care services for all in our community and region. The Office of Practice Business Manager is responsible to the Executive Director of Practice. This position provides guidance and direction to the Office of Practice and clinic directors relative to financial and budget issues to ensure expenditures remain with budget. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of the health care field including health information. Knowledge of accounting information systems. Knowledge of budget development, management, and analysis. Knowledge of the ETSU budgeting process. Knowledge of ETSU purchasing policies and procedures. Knowledge of managing revenues and expenditures. Knowledge of Human Resources principles and procedures. Knowledge of State of Tennessee/TBR personnel policies and procedures. Ability to extract data for analysis and make recommendations on financial issues. Ability to assist others in budget development and management. Ability to exercise consistent, objective, and sound judgment in applying policies and procedures. Working knowledge of Banner, eBucs, and ePrint systems. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Ability to use computers and various software packages. Ability to budget, forecast, and provide accounts payable/receivable and financial management. Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral format. Ability to maintain working relationships with diverse groups at all levels of the university. Ability to organize time and effort effectively and efficiently. Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding financial information and medical information. Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with faculty, staff, and administrative personnel on campus as well as with the public. Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism. Ability to work independently and with little supervision. Ability to multi-task work assignments. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in accounting or business-related field. Two (2) years of experience in accounting, budgeting, forecasting, accounts payable/receivable, and/or financial management. Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in accounting or business-related field. Five (5) years of accounting experience. Two (2) years of experience in higher education or similar field.
