Job Summary As a Business Intelligence (BI) Specialist, you will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and maintaining BI solutions that enable data-driven decision-making. Depending on experience and level, responsibilities will range from supporting foundational BI functions to leading advanced analytics and strategic BI initiatives. This role offers opportunities for growth, with responsibilities increasing in complexity at higher levels.
Key Responsibilities Business Intelligence Development & Analytics - Assist in gathering business requirements from stakeholders and translating them into technical specifications (Level I).
- Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and data visualizations using BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.
- Conduct advanced data modeling and trend analysis to identify key insights (Level II & Senior).
- Architect and optimize data structures and pipelines for scalable analytics solutions (Senior).
ETL & Data Processing - Perform data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.
- Develop automation pipelines to enhance data processing and reporting efficiency (Level II & Senior).
- Manage and enhance ETL workflows for large datasets across multiple sources (Senior).
Data Governance & Compliance - Implement data governance best practices to ensure compliance with security and privacy regulations.
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and security across BI platforms.
- Collaborate with IT and data engineering teams to enhance data infrastructure and governance (Level II & Senior).
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Leadership - Work closely with IT, data engineering, and business teams to develop integrated BI solutions.
- Provide technical mentorship to junior BI specialists and promote best practices (Level II & Senior).
- Lead strategic BI initiatives and support executive decision-making with advanced analytics (Senior).
Minimum Qualifications Business Intelligence Specialist I: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field.
- 0-2 years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or a related role.
- Foundational knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
- Familiarity with BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or QlikView.
Business Intelligence Specialist II: - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Analytics, Data Science, Data Analytics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or a related role.
- Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, SAS, or R for data manipulation and analysis.
- Experience integrating cloud-based data solutions (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Advanced knowledge of BI tools and report development.
Senior Business Intelligence Specialist: - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or a related role.
- Expertise in BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or QlikView.
- Advanced proficiency in SQL and experience with data warehouses (Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, etc.).
- Hands-on experience with ETL processes, data modeling, and predictive analytics.
- Excellent stakeholder management and leadership skills.
