Business Intelligence Engineer, AWS Infrastructure Services (AIS)

Amazon Web Services seeks a highly motivated, analytical, and detail-oriented candidate to develop scalable, predictive, and prescriptive analytics solutions supporting AWS Supply Chain and Procurement. You will be part of the Supply Chain Analytics team, working with Global Stakeholders, Data Engineers, and Business Analysts to achieve our goals.

The ideal candidate combines strong analytical and technical skills, business acumen, and excellent communication abilities. Data-driven decision-making is central to Amazon's culture. You should have expertise in requirements gathering, mining large datasets, data visualization, SQL, Python/R, and generating insights for senior leadership. Experience guiding other engineers and working comfortably in ambiguity is essential.

Key job responsibilities
  1. Understand Amazon's data resources and processes.
  2. Engage with Global Stakeholders, Data Engineers, and Business Analysts across time zones to gather requirements, analyze data, and draw conclusions.
  3. Conduct deep dive analyses, formulate conclusions, and recommend actions.
  4. Enhance analytical maturity through predictive and prescriptive analytics using Machine Learning and Optimization techniques.
  5. Produce recommendations and insights to inform solution design.
  6. Design, develop, and maintain analytical tools, dashboards, and metrics for supply chain and procurement decisions.
  7. Manage multiple projects, adapt to ambiguity, and prioritize effectively.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics, Data Science, or related field.
  • 6+ years of hands-on analytics experience with proven quantitative skills.
  • 3+ years using BI tools like Tableau, QuickSight, PowerBI; experience with Python, SQL, Data Warehouses, and databases.
  • Experience developing metrics, reporting solutions, and data visualization.
  • Ability to think strategically, analyze business needs, and create insightful BI solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Data Science, Operations, Statistics, or an MBA from a top institution.
  • 4+ years in Supply Chain Analytics, Data Science, or related fields.
  • Experience with AWS technologies such as Redshift, S3, Lambda, Glue.
  • Proficiency in Python/R for statistical computing.
