Business Development Sales Manager

As a Business Development Sales Manager, you will lead a dynamic team of Business Development Representatives (BDRs) focused on selling geo-targeted video advertising and digital search campaigns to small and medium-sized businesses within your territory. Our primary platforms include CTV, linear cable, Spectrum News, and a variety of traditional digital marketing tools. Your team will drive client engagement through active prospecting, effective presentations, and successful closing of new clients. You will also coordinate seamless account transitions to Account Executives who will continue nurturing these relationships for renewals.
  • Actively champion efforts to enhance and simplify the customer experience.
  • Motivate and guide your sales team to consistently achieve and exceed weekly and monthly activity targets.
  • Recruit, interview, onboard, and mentor BDRs to reach their sales objectives.
  • Analyze daily individual rep funnel activity, including contacts, presentations, and sales performance.
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of Spectrum Reach platforms and services, and effectively train/coaching BDRs on these offerings.
  • Advise and support your sales team in building strong, professional client relationships to ensure client satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with the SOS team to enhance newly developed client relationships and ensure long-term retention as accounts transition.
  • Develop and manage a strategic territory plan, including target list management, ensuring each BDR is executing it effectively.
  • Spend approximately 80% of your time engaging with clients in the field and 20% on administrative duties.
  • Facilitate regular team meetings to keep the sales team updated on tools, processes, and product developments.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the marketplace, including competitors, while fostering positive relationships with customers, business partners, and colleagues.
  • Address employee relations matters, including performance evaluations, coaching, and training compliance.
  • Participate in management meetings and perform additional duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.
  • Strong background in direct sales and sales management.
  • A willingness to learn the Spectrum Reach product suite, values, and local market selling strategies.
  • A valid driver's license with a good driving record.
EDUCATION
  • Bachelor's degree in business, sales, marketing, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE
  • 5 years of experience in business-to-business sales management.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Familiarity with Salesforce.
  • Knowledge of digital marketing strategies, especially in streaming TV media.
  • Experience in outside sales within a high-transaction, short closing cycle environment is preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Clear and concise oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Skilled at multitasking and meeting deadlines efficiently.
  • A strong desire to learn motivational and accountability techniques.
  • Resilience, persistence, and an enthusiastic approach to coaching sales teams.
  • An inspiring attitude combined with an entrepreneurial mindset.
