Business Development Representative (IT Sales MSP Experience Required)

Location: Manhattan, NY (In-Office or Hybrid)

Full-Time Base + Commission

Base Salary: $40,000-$60,000 + Commission + Bonuses


We are a fast-growing Managed IT Services Provider (MSP) seeking an experienced Business Development Representative to drive new client acquisition and revenue growth. This is a high-impact sales role for someone who understands the MSP landscape and is ready to help businesses solve complex IT challenges with strategic, tailored solutions.


Who We're Looking For

You're an experienced IT sales professional with proven success selling MSP services - not just products. You know how to build trust with decision-makers, uncover pain points, and close deals that align client needs with smart, scalable solutions.


What You'll Do

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities with small and mid-sized businesses
  • Conduct client needs assessments and match solutions to real business problems
  • Deliver compelling sales presentations and proposals to business owners and executives
  • Build and manage a strong sales pipeline and follow-up strategy
  • Collaborate with internal technical teams to ensure smooth handoff and delivery
  • Track metrics and report progress toward KPIs and revenue goals
  • Stay informed on IT trends, emerging technologies, and industry needs

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience selling MSP services (not just hardware or SaaS)
  • Strong understanding of IT services: managed support, cybersecurity, cloud, and networking
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
  • Ability to translate technical concepts into business value for non-technical clients
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
  • Motivated, goal-oriented, and comfortable working independently

Compensation & Benefits

Base Salary: $40,000-$60,000

Commission:

  • 7.5% of monthly recurring revenue (paid monthly)
  • 35% of gross profit on one-time projects (paid upon receipt)
