The Business Development Representative is a key member of the Business Development Team, responsible for proactively engaging with new and existing customers to drive revenue growth and enhance customer satisfaction. This role focuses on outbound calling, post-service follow-ups, identifying sales opportunities, and building strong customer relationships. The Inside Sales Representative will play a vital role in positioning Michelli Weighing & Measurement as the industry leader in precision measurement solutions.
This is an in office position (not remote)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct outbound cold calls to generate new business leads and qualify prospects.
- Perform post-service follow-up calls to ensure customer satisfaction and address any concerns.
- Identify and pursue upselling and cross-selling opportunities within the existing customer base.
- Maintain accurate records of all customer interactions and opportunities within the CRM system.
- Collaborate closely with the Business Development Manager, Marketing Liaison, and other team members to align sales efforts with overall business objectives.
- Provide valuable customer feedback to the Business Development Manager and Marketing Liaison to refine offerings and improve service quality.
- Meet or exceed daily/weekly/monthly call volume and sales targets (target 30-50 calls per day).
- Develop and maintain a strong understanding of Michelli's products, services, and value proposition.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures, including sales processes and ethical guidelines.
- Participate in ongoing training and development programs to enhance sales skills and product knowledge.
- Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field preferred.
- Proven track record of success in inside sales or a related customer-facing role (1+ years preferred).
- Excellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Strong phone etiquette and the ability to build rapport with customers quickly.
- Demonstrated ability to identify and qualify sales leads.
- Experience with CRM software (HubSpot experience a plus) and other sales tools.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented with excellent time management skills.
- Results-oriented and driven to achieve sales targets.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Experience in the weighing and measurement industry or a related technical field is a plus.
- The position is based in the Harahan, La office. Candidates must either be local to the area or be willing to relocate. Relocation costs are not covered by the organization.
Compensation:
- Base compensation commensurate with experience.
- This position will be eligible for commissions based on set KPI's (below).

- Sales pipeline growth (value of opportunities generated)
