Seeking an outgoing Business Development Manager for our events production company

Our team is looking for a self-motivated Business Development Manager (BDM) to help us form partnerships in the corporate events space. As BDM, you will execute a business development roadmap, reaching out to leading multinational companies and tech innovators holding events on the West Coast.

This role requires someone with a positive, enthusiastic, and respectful attitude who can execute a plan intentionally and improve upon it as they go. We are looking for a self-motivated person who loves interacting with new people and is conscientious about following up with them. Expected Tasks:

  • Work within an organized structure that includes:
  • Executing our business development roadmap strategy designed with tangible goals, clear steps toward those goals, and performance metrics (KPIs)
  • Completing daily business development activities specifically focused on bringing qualified prospects and opportunities into our sales funnel
  • Work directly with the leadership team members to qualify opportunities to determine if they are real or perceived
  • Continuous improvement of business development and sales strategies based on metrics and results
  • Ability to prospect for qualified leads and opportunities using:
  • Direct networking (industry events, trade shows, boards, and more)
  • Direct outreach using tools such as LinkedIn and Sales Navigator
  • Social media
  • Web searches
  • Existing contact database
  • Community events
  • Trade shows
  • Industry-specific peer groups
  • Emails, phone calls, and other outreach activities
  • Daily, diligent use of productivity and measurement tools including:
  • CRM (MS Dynamics)
  • LinkedIn and Sales Navigator
  • Surfe
  • Dripify
  • Microsoft Suite
  • Google Suite
  • Develop a deep understanding of AVT's products and services. Telling our story, demonstrating value, and sharing ideas with prospects and potential partners
  • Hosting prospects and clients so that they can witness the AVT Productions brand
  • Attendance and active participation in sales meetings and forecasting

Other Requirements

  • Must be based in the San Jose area
  • Minimum of five years of experience implementing and executing successful business development and sales strategies that resulted in outcome-based deals
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Travel as necessary
  • Willingness to serve as an AVT Productions brand ambassador who always looks and acts the part, treats clients with courtesy and respect, and represents the organization in a professional manner
  • Existing network with deep connections in verticals that might be a good fit (preferred but not required)

Schedule

  • Office hours are from 8:30 am-5:00 pm
  • Hybrid position based on business demand, based in Santa Clara
  • Occasional evening, weekend, and out-of-state travel is required

Compensation and Benefits

  • Compensation: Base salary of $80k-$95k based on experience, plus an opportunity for another $10k-$25k in performance compensation.
  • Benefits: 100% of medical, dental, and vision insurance premiums up to $650 monthly and up to 4% 401K match.
  • PTO: 15 days per year
