Role Overview


Our client is seeking a forward-thinking and analytical Business Development Manager to help shape its long-term strategy and support the development of its resource portfolio. This role will be responsible for gathering and analyzing market and financial data, managing strategic initiatives, and leading development of commodity outlook models and market entry strategies.


This is a full-time, in-office role based in Northwestern Colorado and will require occasional travel. A relocation allowance is available.

Key Responsibilities:



• Contribute to the development and improvement of the corporation's long-term business development strategies


• Conduct in-depth market and competitive analysis across oil, gas, and emerging energy markets


• Lead development of commodity price outlook models


• Evaluate contract structures, partnership opportunities, and market entry strategies


• Contribute to strategic planning and annual budgeting cycles


• Manage and identify special projects tied to growth, innovation, or operational excellence


• Prepare reports, forecasts, and strategic recommendations for senior leadership


• Collaborate across functional teams (engineering, finance, operations) to align execution with strategy


Qualifications and Competencies:



• Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, or a related field


• Minimum 7 years' experience in business development, strategy, consulting, or market intelligence-ideally within energy or resource sectors


• Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint


• Strong financial modeling, data interpretation, and forecasting abilities


• Clear and compelling communicator, both written and verbal


• Natural problem-solver with a proactive, self-starting mindset


• Demonstrated ability to navigate ambiguity and thrive in evolving environments


• Deep intellectual curiosity about global energy markets
