Novaria is seeking to hire a Business Development Manager (BDM) to drive growth. This is a newly created position that will lead growth efforts for two of our engineered products business units. The BDM will be based out of either an existing business or remote office with significant travel (50%+).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Sales efforts are currently organized by individual business as opposed to customer, market, or region. The BDM will support growth efforts for two of our engineered products businesses, L&E Engineering & Ferco Tech There are cross business and market opportunities that maybe included as the position develops.
The BDM will focus on producing the following critical actions and results:
- Foster Opportunities: The BDM must support each site to grow the number of aerospace related opportunities and convert opportunities to wins. The BDM will work collaboratively with the business to secure new work for the organization. After becoming acquainted with each business and their capabilities, the BDM will leverage existing relationships in the industry to close current pursuits and maintain relationships with current customers. As a result, the BDM will be responsible for developing and maintaining close, positive customer relationships with key Aerospace customers. The BDM will properly manage the customers' expectations, assisting in the resolution of customer challenges, develop multi-level relationships within the customer's organization across all disciplines, and facilitate the introduction of company executives and technical representatives.
- New Business Development: The BDM will increase the number and variety of opportunities for each site to grow the business. To drive penetration into new customer accounts, the BDM will utilize their background and experience to identify new customers, applications, and programs for the businesses' competencies. The BDM will expand sales across the sites by securing new contracts, aligning the product and market strategies of each of the sites and expanding product lines opportunities. The BDM will develop strong customer relationships by identifying new opportunities for sales growth at both existing and new customers that meet strategic objectives. Finally, the BDM will identify areas for synergies to be developed and grown between the sites, as well as anticipate customer requirements and promote consideration of the company's products and services to fill such requirements.
- Marketing: The BDM will work closely with the sites and the CCO to develop a more robust marketing strategy across each of the marketing channels. By partnering with the site GMs and CCO to incorporate promotion into marketing material, the BDM will direct strategic marketing activities to target key customers and maximize position on major programs with primes, such as Pratt & Whitney, GE, Rolls Royce, Collins, Middle River, GKN and others.
- Performance Expectations: The success of the BDM in achieving the objectives described above will be measured by the following:
- Secure program wins for ongoing pursuits.
- Increased conversion rate of overall opportunities to win.
- Addition of new customers, applications, and programs across the entire portfolio of businesses.
- Development and execution of a strategic marketing plan to drive business with target customers.
EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Education: Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or related field.
Experience:
- 10+ years of experience in an aerospace and/or manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated success in growing business.
- Established relationships with key targeted customers at working and executive levels.
- In depth knowledge of the aerospace markets and supply chains (both OEM & the aftermarket).
- Excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships at all levels.
- Excellent organizational, analytical reasoning skills.
- Strong presentation skills.
- Capable negotiation skills and a proven track record with customer support.
- Technical aptitude.

COMPENSATION:
This will be a salary plus bonus compensation package commensurate with experience along with a market-competitive benefits package.
