Volt is immediately hiring for a Business Development Manager in Baytown, TX

As a Business Development Manager (BDM), you will:
  • Create and maintain a network of contacts to support the strategy for growth and expansion in the Houston market.
  • Meet and develop relationships with existing contacts and continue to develop the pipeline of sales leads and customers.
  • Represent the company at relevant events and conferences.
  • Identify and act on suitable business opportunities.
  • Nurture new sales leads to secure business.
  • Liaise with Marketing and Communications to create and publish related materials and messaging on appropriate media.
  • Work closely with Project Management to develop larger solutions and prepare bids to present to potential customers.
  • Support the development of business cases to be presented to senior management.
  • Present to customers and act as a liaison during RFP/bidding processes.
  • Assist in negotiations and successfully close deals.
  • Ensure thorough handover to projects/operations.
  • Maintain customer relationships during and post-implementation.
  • Identify further opportunities to increase business with existing customers.
  • Collaborate with global counterparts to offer single global solutions.
  • Monitoring market trends and industry dynamics that affect operations and sales efforts in the target industries.
  • Maintaining a strong network with prospects, customers, and competitors.
This is a full time, direct hire opportunity.

The ideal candidate will have:
  • Minimum Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Logistics and Business Management experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of chemical and petrochemical logistics principles, practices, techniques, and materials, including plant operations, transportation (truck, rail, barge), storage, and distribution.
  • Existing network of contacts within the chemical/petrochemical industry in the Gulf Coast region.
  • Experience with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) and other sales-related software.
  • Very strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, colleagues, and partners at all levels.
  • Excellent organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively within a team.
Salary: $120,000 - $150,000/year.
Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
