As the Business Development Director, you will be responsible for formulating and executing strategic initiatives that drive revenue growth and market penetration. You will identify new business opportunities, forge strategic partnerships, and foster relationships with key stakeholders. Client Details

My client is a high growth market leader in contract manufacturing within the beauty space. Products they manufacturer on on shelves across the nation in places like Sephora, Macy's, Target, Walmart, Rite Aid, etc. They are seeking a seasoned industry vet in this space to help drive company growth.

Description

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Business Development: Work with existing and new industry contacts to develop specific contract manufacturing and formula development plans.
  2. Strategic Planning: Develop and implement a comprehensive business development strategy for the hair and liquid products line that aligns with company goals and objectives.

  3. Market Analysis: Conduct thorough market research to identify trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences, translating insights into actionable strategies.

  4. Partnership Development: Identify and establish strategic partnerships, collaborations, and alliances to enhance brand visibility, distribution channels, and product offerings.

  5. Sales and Revenue Generation: Drive revenue growth by identifying and targeting new sales opportunities, expanding the customer base, and optimizing pricing strategies.

  6. Stakeholder Engagement: Cultivate and nurture relationships with key stakeholders, including suppliers, distributors, retailers, and potential clients, to foster mutually beneficial partnerships. Perform regular client pitches and reviews monthly to boil down complex problems into simple digestible solutions.

  7. Product Development Support: Collaborate closely with the product development team to provide market insights, consumer feedback, and industry trends that inform product enhancements and innovation.

  8. Negotiations: Lead negotiations and contract discussions with potential partners, ensuring terms that align with the company's goals and objectives.

  9. Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with marketing, supply chain, finance, and other departments to ensure seamless execution of business development strategies.

  10. Performance Tracking: Develop and utilize key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the effectiveness of business development efforts and provide regular reports to senior management.

Profile

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • 10+ years of experience in business development, sales, or marketing within the beauty, industry - must have Contract Manufacturing specific experience.
  • Experience within liquid beauty products - on the value based / formula side.
  • Proven track record of driving revenue growth and expanding market share.
  • Strong network of industry contacts and a deep understanding of market trends and dynamics.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to identify and capitalize on emerging opportunities.
  • Experience in managing and leading a team of business development professionals.
  • Analytical mindset with proficiency in using data to inform decisions.
  • Ability to travel as needed to establish and nurture partnerships.

Job Offer

Offer:

  • $150-175k base salary pending industry experience (+ commission and bonus - 25% with opportunity to over perform)
  • Highly competitive benefits package
  • Remote role - Anywhere in the US with preference in Northeast but flexible for the right candidate
  • 30% travel expectation to clients, industry events etc.
