The Impact You Will Make:

The Business Development Coordinator will play a critical role in expanding the client's market presence within the fresh produce and perishable freight sectors. This "hunter" role demands a strategic approach to identifying and nurturing new client relationships.

  • Source and develop new business opportunities within the fresh produce and perishable freight sectors.
  • Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with growers, shippers, and supply chain partners.
  • Conduct proactive cold and warm outreach through calls, emails, and customer visits.
  • Understand temperature-controlled freight and produce seasonality to offer relevant shipping solutions.
  • Respond to customer inquiries and RFPs with professionalism and urgency.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales and Operations for accurate quoting, booking, and on-time delivery.
  • Track shipments and communicate proactively with customers throughout the delivery cycle.
  • Manage pipeline and sales tracking in CRM, ensuring clean handoff to internal operations teams.
  • Meet or exceed sales goals and outreach activity quotas.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends, market shifts, and produce seasons that impact customer freight needs.

What You'll Bring:

Our client is seeking a professional who thrives independently in a fast-paced environment and possesses exceptional relationship-building acumen. Ideal candidates will have:

  • 2+ years of experience in freight brokerage, sales, or account management (produce freight preferred).
  • Familiarity with refrigerated and time-sensitive shipments is a strong plus.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and customer service skills.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking ability; capable of prioritizing multiple shipments and conversations.
  • Comfortable using CRM tools and basic Microsoft Office applications.
  • Prior experience with a TMS and logistics platforms is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and thrive in a deadline-driven environment.
