A leading private equity firm is seeking a Business Development Associate to join its dynamic team in Austin. This role involves identifying, evaluating, and sourcing potential investment opportunities, with a focus on creating and maintaining long-term relationships with founders and C-suite executives to build a strong pipeline of investment prospects. The successful candidate will work closely with senior team members, assisting with current deal flow and driving outreach efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and source new investment opportunities in line with the firm's investment strategy.

  • Leverage a network of industry contacts, intermediaries, and external partners to generate deal flow.

  • Conduct outreach to potential acquisition targets, including executives, advisors, and other key stakeholders.

  • Perform comprehensive market research to identify trends, competitive landscapes, and potential growth sectors.

  • Analyze industry dynamics to uncover attractive investment opportunities and emerging markets.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key industry contacts, including investment banks, brokers, executives, and other deal-sourcing intermediaries.

  • Represent the firm at industry conferences, networking events, and meetings to enhance deal sourcing.

  • Track and manage a pipeline of potential investment opportunities, ensuring timely follow-ups and accurate reporting.

  • Monitor deal progress and collaborate with senior deal teams to support progression from initial sourcing to closing.

  • Support the execution of strategic initiatives aimed at scaling and optimizing the business development function.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in business development or externally facing roles within financial services, consulting, research, or technology.

  • Strong understanding of financial modeling, valuation techniques, and investment analysis.

  • Proven ability to source and identify investment opportunities through networking and industry research.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with senior executives and deal intermediaries.

  • Highly organized, with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); experience with financial modeling and database management tools is a plus.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.
