Overview: We are seeking an experienced and analytical Business Unit Controller (Management Accountant) to join our finance team. This role supports key financial planning and analysis functions across business units, with a focus on performance tracking, budgeting, forecasting, and financial risk mitigation. You will play a pivotal role in both recurring and project-based finance initiatives, contributing to strategic decisions and continuous improvement efforts.
Key Responsibilities: -
Drive the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes across business units in alignment with company financial goals.

Collaborate with operational managers to define and validate improvement projects, ensuring financial robustness (sizing, business case, ROI).

Produce and manage timely, accurate financial reporting to both local and central teams, highlighting variances and potential risks.

Provide critical financial insight and challenge to operational performance, recommending and supporting mitigation strategies.

Assess business cases for investments and operational initiatives, applying rigorous financial evaluation and assumptions testing.

Support financial control activities across various categories, including Recurring Costs, Inventory, Non-Recurring Costs, and Capex (Jigs & Tools, where required).
Essential Skills & Qualifications: -
Qualified Accountant (CIMA preferred) with minimum 2 years post-qualification experience in a manufacturing or commercial environment.

Proficient in SAP or similar financial reporting systems.

Demonstrated ability to work within cross-functional, multi-national teams.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Strong analytical thinking and a continuous improvement mindset.
Desirable: -
Prior experience in a highly regulated or engineering-led environment (e.g., aerospace, defence).

Knowledge of lean financial processes or involvement in finance transformation projects.
