Veterans Support Services, a veterans owned Small Business Development firm, is looking for a like-minded, dynamic individual for a long-term career opportunity. (link removed) We are seeking a high energy, proactive multitasking individual that has life goals and is willing to work toward those them.
The consultant will work with small business owners in improving the organization, finance, operation, sales, and planning functions of the business. This consultant will also assist in removing the impediments and distractions hindering stability, to future growth and profitability. In addition to performing the work, the business consultant will prepare a scope of work and/or project plan delivering business solutions unique to the client and the business. Work will primarily be in the Dallas area, with occasional work out of town.
Successful applicants must be good communicators both verbally and in writing. They also must be dynamic and confident teachers and communicators to adapt, teach, and install business concepts when working with small business owners in a wide variety of industries. Prior experience managing HR functions, overseeing profit loss in a small business setting, proficiency in excel and has worked in the small business consulting industry is preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
Client Engagement & Needs Assessment: Conduct in-depth meetings with clients to understand their business objectives, challenges, and opportunities.
Data Collection & Analysis: Utilize various methods such as interviews, surveys, and document reviews to gather relevant data about the client's operations.
Strategic Planning: Develop actionable business strategies and detailed plans to address identified issues and achieve client goals.
Implementation Support: Assist clients in executing recommended strategies, ensuring smooth integration into existing processes.
Performance Monitoring: Track the effectiveness of implemented solutions and make necessary adjustments to ensure desired outcomes.
Reporting & Presentation: Prepare comprehensive reports and deliver presentations to stakeholders, clearly communicating findings and recommendations.
Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices to provide clients with innovative solutions.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Management, Finance, or a related field.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in business consulting or a related role.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
Experience with business management software (e.g., CRM, ERP systems) is a plus.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Ideal Qualifications:
Masters degree in Business Administration (MBA) or a specialized business field.
Certifications such as Certified Management Consultant (CMC), Project Management Professional (PMP), or Six Sigma.
Experience in change management and organizational development.
