Overview The Business Application Engineer will be a key member of IT team responsible for on-going support, maintenance, planning, and development of enhancements to the company's business applications; Oracle EBS, Atlassian JIRA and Confluence, and Salesforce. The ideal candidate must have the ability to multi-task and be comfortable with managing multiple, changing projects. The individual must demonstrate initiative in starting and completing projects as well as following through with stakeholders, where necessary. The Business Applications Engineer will be eager to take on new IT operations tasks and responsibilities, as assigned, and be willing to take on new roles while working on a small, versatile team. Individual will work as Subject Matter Expert (SME) and be able to participate and/or take ownership critical technical issues. Individual should be able to perform hands-on activities in troubleshooting, setup, administer or optimize the systems. This position is based in Herndon, VA with the opportunity for a remote work schedule. Responsibilities Proven experience in providing functional and technical support of Oracle EBS to business users for day-to-day operations, month-end, and quarter-end. Especially knowledge of Oracle modules like: AP, AR, OM, INV, FA, PO, and GL. Knowledge in underlying Oracle Applications database architecture including schemas/products, database objects, file system structure, tables, views, packages, procedures, functions, triggers, sequences, indexes, and constraints. Must have proficiency with tools used to support Oracle Applications development including, but not limited to, Java, XML,PL/SQL, SQL Plus, Forms, Reports, Workflow, XML Publisher, OAF & ADF. Experience with administering and developing software team solutions on Atlassian tools especially JIRA and Confluence Advanced understanding of JIRA workflows, permission schemes, notification schemes, screens schemes, etc 2+ years of Salesforce platform administration experience Experience in ensuring compliance with industry security practices. Provide training to new staff, as necessary, as well as develop, maintain, and update user training documents. Working knowledge of both Scrum and Kanban methodologies Must be self-starters, strategic thinkers, action driven, flexible in changing direction and methods, excel at managing multiple priorities, succeed in communicating with all levels within the organization and provide immediate contribution. Must be proficient working with scripting and Linux Operating systems. A bachelor's degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Information System, or related fields. At least three years of experience with Oracle with emphasis on finance, distribution, and manufacturing functions is required. Must work well with small team and be organized. Qualifications Design, develop, and maintain Oracle EBS applications, including customizations, extensions, and upgrades. Work collaboratively with functional teams to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions. Develop and customize reports using Oracle EBS reporting tools like Oracle Reports and BI Publisher. Work with Oracle PL/Sql, SQL, Java, Oracle Reports, Oracle Forms, BI Publisher and Oracle Apex Collaborate with Oracle support and support vendors to resolve issues and implement fixes. Manage updates, upgrades and development required for Oracle EBS, JIRA, and Confluence. Maintain Jira projects, workflows, permissions, and users while working in the latest JIRA environment. Research and implement best practices for configuring and administering the Enterprise Instances of Jira and Confluence. Collaborate with Scrum teams to define requirements, design solutions, and test implementations. Work with Jira filters, reporting, dashboards, workflows, fields, and Jira administration Maintain and advance existing Salesforce Service Cloud implementation to meet company goals. Knowledge or Proficiency Areas preferred. Strong computer and technical skills, especially with Linux, scripting. Any Oracle Application DBA Relevant Experience supporting Oracle E-Business applications and Database systems in fast paced environment is huge plus. Ability to administer, troubleshoot, backup, restore, move, upgrade, patch and tune JIRA, Confluence and Oracle Application databases is highly desirable.
