EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Required:
  • BA or BS Degree
  • Experience connecting business industry sectors to school learning opportunities required
Preferred:
  • Bilingual preferred

  • Experience in the business industry sectors, school settings, including career pathways, internships, and/or apprenticeships, volunteer organizing
  • Experience in school settings working with parents, school staff and administration
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Summary/Objective
This position is primarily responsible for collaborating and leading partnerships with community members and businesses to increase student college and career readiness. This includes but is not limited to, business leaders, CEOs, Chambers of Commerce, and Workforce Development Centers. The ability to relate to and work with young adolescents and willingness to work collaboratively with both the community and school teams is essential. Extra duties may include providing career education programs and activities, post-secondary information workshops and college campus visits. This position also oversees the district-wide volunteer program, assisting schools in recruiting and placing volunteers in schools, particularly professionals and non-profit organizations to mentor and engage students.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Recruit and enroll businesses for work-based learning opportunities such as internships, apprenticeships, guest speakers, shadowing opportunities, and business tours. Train business partners in key industry sectors to expand high school internships and develop apprenticeships. Partner with local business leaders to leverage resources to leverage resources and evaluate effectiveness of the Career Explore Internship Program. Organize formal recognitions of business industry internship partners. Facilitate Career Explore Internship student placement process including task force meetings, arrangement of student intern interviews and placements.
  • Liaison between school and businesses to support students during internships and apprenticeships. Evaluate Career Explore Internship program's effectiveness and yield, and communicate to stakeholders. Develop business partnership to support career pathways, including advisory boards and access to industry leaders. Develop and maintain the career pathways, and collaborate with community organizations and business sectors to increase the number of skilled workforce student candidates. Pursue and secure additional funding sources through grant opportunities and donors for internships, and work collaboratively with community organizations to pursue grant opportunities.
  • Coordinate industry student tours for all secondary schools at industry locations. Partner with regional sector partnerships to support career pathways and workforce development. Coordinate High School and Middle School Career Pathway field trips to higher education. Oversee budgets, budget reports, and other financial components of the Career Explore program.
  • Support Assistant Superintendent of Secondary Schools in expansion of Career Pathways.
  • Develop and implement college and career readiness training and plans for parent and community engagement. Engage with the chamber of commerce's for Greeley and Evans to build partnerships and programs that support career and college readiness for District 6 students. Collaborate with Director of Career and Technical Education to ensure robust and comprehensive college and career readiness for District 6 students.
  • Develop and oversee a district-wide business partnership program that benefits schools K-12 as well as the business community.
  • Attend district level and school level meetings, and School Board meetings when required. Attend conferences in and out of state as needed. Participation in community and civic boards and organizations.
  • Organize and coordinate district volunteer programming utilizing the Raptor system and supporting schools with business partnerships and volunteer opportunities.
  • Support Assistant Superintendent of Secondary Schools on engagement and increased attendance for secondary students.
  • Manage volunteer management program and system for District 6.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
