Business Analyst to support data-driven decision-making and process improvement across engineering and cross-functional teams. This role involves capturing and translating complex business needs into measurable metrics, developing data models, and working with stakeholders to streamline workflows and increase organizational efficiency. You'll be at the intersection of engineering, business operations, and analytics-driving strategic insight, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities - Evaluate business needs across engineering and other functions to improve decision-making and operational efficiency.
- Document and translate business needs into measurable metrics and performance indicators.
- Monitor and review metrics against business objectives, providing insight into performance and identifying root causes behind trends.
- Deliver meaningful insights-not just what is happening, but why -based on data synthesis and analysis.
- Communicate findings, risks, opportunities, and recommendations clearly to all levels of the organization.
- Collaborate with engineering and cross-functional teams to document current processes and develop future-state workflows (As-Is/To-Be).
- Create data models and process flow diagrams to support process understanding and improvement initiatives.
- Partner with management to define short-term and long-term goals, KPIs, and business gains.
- Identify opportunities to reduce variation, improve process capability, and optimize performance.
- Support the development of business intelligence (BI) dashboards, visualizations, and reporting in collaboration with data engineers.
- Promote a culture of transparency, collaboration, experimentation, and innovation.
- Prepare and present findings and project outcomes to stakeholders and leadership.
- Help plan, implement, and refine process improvements to meet evolving business goals.
- Balance the need for technological improvements with timely delivery of business outcomes.
Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, business, engineering, physical/applied sciences, or a related discipline
- 5-7 years of experience in business analysis or process improvement roles
- Previous experience working with engineering teams and complex systems
- Strong communication, organizational, and critical thinking skills
- Proven track record of defining metrics and using data to inform business decisions
- Working knowledge of technical systems, architecture, and engineering workflows
- Familiarity with data visualization, BI tools, and reporting methodologies
- Self-starter with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- US Citizenship
Desired: - Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) or Management Information Technology
- Experience supporting BI/reporting development workflows, especially in partnership with data engineers
- Hands-on experience capturing and translating stakeholder requirements into usable dashboards or data products
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, process mapping, and iterative improvement strategies
