Job Title: Business Analyst - III
Location: Richmond, VA

Job Description:
  • Provides research and analysis of technical data and problems of varying complexity in order to develop recommendations to solve problems and issues related to technical operations.
  • Provides guidance in identifying, evaluating and developing processes and procedures that are effective and meet requirements.
  • Provides reporting and analysis to assist in executing solutions and may provide consultation to clients, colleagues and management
  • Participates in cross-functional linked teams to address technical or systems issues.
  • Determines best practices and suggests how to improve current practices.
  • Advanced level position is recognized as an advanced contributor and subject matter expert in field.
  • Performs complex analysis of major and critical business issues and recommends and implements sustainable solutions utilizing established methodology and tools within technology areas.
  • Works with the clients and other resources to assess current capabilities, identify the high-level customer needs. Recommends and implements business process improvements and sustainable solutions within technology areas.
  • Proactively reviews, compiles and analyzes detailed and complex statistics and data for major and critical business issues. Provides leadership and collaboration in completing analysis, information or process mapping, and/or alignment of the business and related areas. Evaluates root cause and effect into solutions regularly.
  • Leads process improvement and solution discussions and presents outcomes in written and verbal format to senior management within technology areas.
  • Leads advanced level development and design of new business processes and the elaboration and updating of existing business processes.
  • Acts a key participant in cross-functional team initiatives and process improvement projects within technology areas.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge:
  • Advanced knowledge pertaining to concepts and principles in functional area.
  • General knowledge of department/business lines, Reserve Banks, and / or System operations, policies, procedures and technologies.

Communications:
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, creativity, attention to detail (compliance), and negotiation skills to interpret results, develop communications and recommend improvements.
  • Able to present information within all settings in a credible, confident and influential manner. Communicates in a concise, direct and purposeful way.
  • Excellent customer service skills and demonstrated ability to interact with anticipated audiences in a courteous, service-oriented manner
  • Risk Management: The individual is responsible for understanding and applying risk management discipline in decision making and contributing to his or her function's risk management.
Decision Making:
  • Works independently on broad assignments or under general directions as to Product or objectives.
  • Makes decisions within established or widely accepted standards.
  • Achieves assigned/planned results by decisions and actions based on professional methods, training, business principles, and practical experience.
Working Conditions:
  • Will require the use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, etc.
  • Hours of Work: May require extended work hours. Occasional travel including overnight stays may be necessary
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience/Master's Degree may be preferred with 10+ years of relevant work experience.
