Purpose of Position
This position plays a key role in implementation, testing, training, support and maintenance of the University's reporting systems, working closely with analysts and functional areas to identify, develop, test and document appropriate solutions.

Works closely with the business areas, with an understanding of the University's processes, and the ability to translate business requirements into functional specifications. Identifies business intelligence, reporting, and data analysis needs and collaborates with others to turn data into critical information and knowledge that can be used to make sound business decisions.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Works directly with end users to identify business requirements, guides on best practices to ensure data output is sufficient for intended purposes, converts these into developed reports and dashboards, leads extraction and integration of data from ERP and other systems for these requests, and supports interpretation of results.
  • Use Excel to pull and merge data from external data sources
  • Maintain resources ensuring their accuracy, functionality, and future sustainability.
  • Create and maintain documentation of resources.
  • Support for training staff.
  • Identifies data issues and implements data quality checks.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree (no specific major is required, but one in Statistics, Mathematics, Technology or a related field is preferred)

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Excellent organization skills for produced resources
Proficient user in Microsoft Office (advanced levels of Excel)
Ability to read/understand SQL queries and write basic queries
Ability to interact with individuals at all levels and work collaboratively with multiple teams
Ability to adapt to a changing environment, ambiguity, and handle multiple priorities
Work experience with Power BI or other BI tools such as Tableau
Direct work experience with ERP system (Workday preferred)
Experience implementing cross-departmental software system preferred
Experience using a cloud-based data repository preferred
