Job Summary

The Business Analyst II will join the Fixed Income Division (FID) OTC Settlements Team within Client Operations Division. This role is responsible for the post-booking settlement of Credit, Interest Rate, and Fixed Income OTC derivatives. The analyst will engage directly with internal stakeholders and external clients to ensure efficient settlement processing, manage risk, and enhance the client experience through exceptional operational service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Communicate daily with clients to confirm and agree on upcoming cash flows.
  • Investigate and resolve client fails through collaboration with trading desks, sales, and middle office teams.
  • Perform reconciliation and root cause analysis of aged breaks.
  • Respond to client inquiries related to breaks, corporate action bookings, and transaction reporting.
  • Manage and strengthen internal and external client relationships.
  • Escalate risk concerns and unresolved issues in a timely manner.
  • Take ownership of settlement processes and maintain accountability for all outstanding items.
  • Partner with technology and operations management to improve settlement processes and reduce risk exposure.
Required Qualifications
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure in a fast-paced, multitasking environment.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and highly detail-oriented.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word (intermediate level).
Preferred Qualifications (if any)
  • Experience in financial operations or settlements, particularly in OTC derivatives.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with a proactive follow-up approach.
  • Solid understanding of operational and reputational risk.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain client relationships in a high-volume environment.
  • Familiarity with financial products and post-trade lifecycle.
Certifications (if an y)
  • None required, though certifications in financial operations (e.g., CFA Level I, FINRA Series) are a plus.
