Job Title: Business Analyst 2
Location: Columbus, OH (100% Onsite from Day 1)
Duration: 18+ Months Contract

Job Description:

Under general direction and as part of a team, the Business Analyst 2 (BA 2) provides program technical assistance to IT professionals, supporting the development of system requirements, reviewing design documents, conducting system tests, assisting in data conversion, and supporting the implementation of new or enhanced systems. Additionally, the BA 2 offers help desk customer service and stays up to date on program policy changes to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
Key Responsibilities:

• Gather and document business requirements for process automation projects.
• Collaborate with IT professionals to develop scope and requirements for system implementations.
• Review design documents and verify they align with project needs.
• Develop and recommend test case scenarios (e.g., creating realistic scripts and business use cases).
• Conduct system tests to validate expected outcomes and identify potential defects.
• Assist in data conversion from existing automated systems.
• Support system implementation with stakeholders, ensuring smooth transitions.
• Interpret federal and state regulations to ensure compliance in automated system design.
• Develop procedures and user manuals to guide system users.
• Monitor adherence to state and federal requirements within the system.
• Provide technical assistance to County Departments of Job and Family Services (CDJFS), state agency staff, and child-serving programs.
• Respond to user inquiries and troubleshoot system-related issues.
• Prepare and submit system defect reports for identified issues.
• Update reference tables and security profiles as needed.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Assist data systems professionals in enhancing and maintaining other automated systems.
• Identify technical problems and develop corrective action plans.
• Provide training workshops and seminars on new or modified procedures.
• Stay current on policy changes and ensure IT solutions align with regulations.
• Participate in staff meetings, conferences, and training sessions.
• Maintain accurate logs, records, and documentation.

Mandatory Skills & Qualifications:

• 4-year college degree or equivalent
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
• Technical proficiency and experience working with IT systems
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Data analysis and research expertise
• Ability to work strategically and collaboratively with teams

Certifications & Preferred Skills:

• IIBA or CBAP training/certification (Highly Desired)
• Experience working as a Business Analyst in IT projects
• Familiarity with government systems, child-serving programs, or compliance-driven environments
