The Bus Driver (Part-time) is responsible for safely operating the bus according to a set schedule. He/she must ensure that the bus is in good operating condition at all times, transport passengers as per the schedule, maintain order and security on the bus and obey all laws, regulations and rules of conduct. Salary: Commensurate with experience and education as determined on Reid State Technical College Local Salary Schedule L. This is a part-time only position. Pay for this position is $100 - $200 per day, with no benefits available. Time worked per week will not exceed nineteen (19) hours. Operate the bus in a safe and efficient way according to all relevant laws, policies, and procedures. Transport students, faculty, and staff to special events, such as field trips or sporting events. Perform safety and maintenance checks before trips. Clean the bus as scheduled and/or required. Ensure the bus is safely and securely stored. Advise the Athletic Director of any requirements for maintenance or repairs. Pick up and deliver passengers as per a set schedule. Take attendance on the bus. Stay alert at all times but specifically in bad traffic and/or weather conditions. Interact with passengers and maintain order on the bus. Follow regulations regarding prescribed rest breaks for trips with lengthy travel durations. Follow all College safety and security procedures. Adhere to all policies and procedures set forth by the College. Ensure passengers are aware of rules and responsibilities as passengers. Assist in enforcing all college policies. Maintain professional conduct in dealing with students, staff, administration, faculty, and the college community. Represent the College in a positive manner. Immediately report all accidents and incidents to Athletic Director. Perform other duties as assigned. High School diploma or GED A valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with proper passenger class qualification. Must have a good driving record and be insurable.
