Position: Senior Building Engineer

Hours: 7:00am - 3:30pm
Client will also consider the following works hours: 6:00am - 2:30pm or 8:00am - 4:30pm.
Must be available for OT as needed and on-call emergencies on a rotational basis.
We have an exciting job opportunity for a Senior Building Engineer, who will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems in a 500,000 square foot medical office facility. This role provides leadership in troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and optimizing building performance.
What you will be doing:
Manage and perform maintenance and repair of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life safety systems.
Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain central chiller plant and low-pressure steam boilers.
Oversee and conduct preventive maintenance on pumps, motors, VFDs, air-handlers, and other mechanical equipment.
Monitor and adjust Building Management System (BMS) to optimize performance and energy efficiency
Utilize CMMS/work order system to respond to scheduled and reactive maintenance requests.
Assist with sprinkler, pump, and fire alarm inspections.
Ensure compliance with NFPA, OSHA, and local building codes.
Perform electrical troubleshooting on circuits, panels, and emergency power systems.
Respond to emergency situations including power failures, floods, and HVAC outages.
Supervise vendors and contractors performing specialized maintenance and repairs.
Maintain accurate records of equipment performance, work orders, and compliance inspections.
Train and mentor junior engineering staff.
What experience we are looking for:
Minimum 7+ years of experience in commercial building maintenance, preferably in medical office facilities.
Extensive knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and boiler operations.
EPA 608 Certification (Universal) highly preferred.
Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS) and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Availability for on-call emergencies and rotating shift coverage.
Salary Range: $35/hr. - $45/hr. based on experience and certifications.
