Integrated Talent Strategies is working with an industry leader to find a Building Automation Engineer. This position has 25% travel to job sites and other offices are required.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Interpret and execute system layouts based on construction documents.
- Design temperature control systems for commercial applications.
- Conduct equipment take-offs to assist estimators in determining control equipment counts.
- Provide updates to control submittal drawings in collaboration with Automation System Specialists and Project Managers.
- Cross-check design details for electrical power, control panels, relay logic, wiring, and control devices.
- Support software engineering and system networking, including programming and communication system integration.
- Generate design submittals, as-built drawings, and operations & maintenance (O&M) packages.
- Obtain and coordinate cut sheets, submittals, and O&M assembly processes.
- Ensure compliance with contract drawings and specifications, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
- Select appropriate devices for specified applications while adhering to customer requirements.
- Create custom graphic packages for integration into the building automation system.
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and field personnel to ensure seamless project execution.
- Assist in project reviews and value engineering to optimize costs and efficiency.
SKILLS
- Familiar with integration concepts and platforms.
- Good knowledge of optimization and energy management strategy for BAS system.
- Good understanding of HVAC systems/controls, and functions of building automation systems.
- Thorough understanding of control theory and control concepts.
- Ability to read blueprints and interpret specifications.
- Proven attention to detail and ability to work independently and in a team.
- Possesses a strong environmental, health and safety mindset.
- Strong client-service orientation along with a high sense of urgency.
- Effective communication skills for the purpose of data relay, exchange, feedback, and clarification.
- Must be willing to wear Personal Protective Equipment when on job site walks where it is required.
- Ability to analyze complex information and prepare detailed estimates.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with clients, vendors, and team members.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- 5+ years of proven work experience in design, implementation, and installation of building controls systems
- Experience with computers, computer networks and internet protocols
- Familiarity with Visio, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Previous experience in estimating or project management within the building automation or construction industry of 5+ years.
