POSITION SUMMARY

The Break/Roll Operator plays a pivotal role in our manufacturing process, operating a variety of machinery including a large Faccin NC plate roll, various smaller manual plate rolls, a large Cincinnati 400-ton manual brake press, a Cincinnati Proform CNC brake press, and various manual iron workers. The operator is responsible for reading and interpreting blueprints, forming products with precision and ensuring adherence to quality standards.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Read blueprints and roll/form product within specified tolerance on drawing for various grades of material
• Set up and safely operate all rolling/forming equipment
• Utilize sweeps to determine pre-bend and roll radius with accuracy
• Tack weld cylinders using flux-core welding process
• Assist/perform layouts and set-ups of materials as instructed by Supervisor
• Load, unload, and move materials to and from machine using forklift or overhead cranes
• Inspect finished products by strapping outer diameter, measuring length, height, width, and degrees of all parts. Transfer information to job orders for Quality Control validation before proceeding to fabrication
• Review and understand customer job orders
• Detect and report defective materials before processing
• Follow all safety policies and procedures at all times, be involved in our safety culture
• Understand and adherence to industry regulations related to safety, quality, and production standards
• Perform other work-related duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years experience operating plate rolling and/or brake equipment
• Previous experience with CNC, NC, and manual equipment is preferred
• Proficient in interpreting and understanding detailed blueprints and technical drawings
• Experience using forklifts and cranes for material handling operations
• Ability to read and interpret measurements accurately using tape measures, calipers, gages, and other precision measuring instruments
• Strong mathematical and geometry skills for precise calculations and measurements
• Reliable with a consistent attendance record, demonstrating commitment to punctuality and reliability
• Proven safety record
