Position Overview:

We are seeking a Branch Operations Officer to lead and optimize the daily operational functions of our San Jose branch. Key Responsibilities:

Branch Operations & Compliance

  • Oversee and manage daily branch operations, ensuring compliance with bank policies, state, and federal banking regulations.
  • Monitor and approve large transactions, NSF reports, and overdraft exceptions within established limits.
  • Maintain branch security by ensuring staff is trained in safety protocols, key controls, and cash limits.
  • Support the Branch Manager in operational audits and regulatory compliance reviews.

Customer Service & Relationship Management

  • Lead by example in delivering exceptional customer service, ensuring prompt resolution of escalated client concerns.
  • Assist customers with complex financial transactions, new accounts, and banking products.
  • Build and maintain long-term client relationships by offering tailored financial solutions.
  • Foster a welcoming and professional banking environment, ensuring the highest level of service.

Sales & Business Development

  • Develop and execute sales strategies to drive branch growth and revenue generation.
  • Support business development initiatives by partnering with the Branch Manager and Regional Sales Manager.
  • Identify opportunities to deepen customer relationships and increase product adoption through cross-selling financial services.
  • Participate in networking events and community outreach to enhance branch visibility.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Train, mentor, and manage a team of up to five branch employees, ensuring their professional growth and development.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations, goal setting, and coaching sessions with direct reports.
  • Oversee employee scheduling, timecard accuracy, and compliance with HR policies.
  • Ensure all staff members are proficient in banking regulations, sales techniques, and customer service excellence.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 8 years of banking experience, including at least 4 years in a supervisory role.
  • Expertise in branch operations, compliance, and financial products.
  • Strong leadership experience, with the ability to train, mentor, and develop staff.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and core banking applications.
  • In-depth knowledge of banking regulations (BSA, AML, and Information Security).
  • Notary Public certification preferred.

This position requires strong interpersonal, leadership, and organizational skills, along with the ability to resolve challenging situations with professionalism, discretion, and fiscal responsibility. The Branch Operations Officer will play a vital role in supporting branch operations, staff development, and client satisfaction.
