Job Description

The Branch Manager is responsible for providing the overall leadership and management of the Branch to sustain strategic growth. This includes being responsible for securing contracts, maintaining, and developing relationships with new and existing customers, and managing all day-to-day field operations. This position reports directly to the Park West Tree Care President.


Role and Responsibilities

  • Overall leadership and management of the Branch
  • Development and maintenance of the field operations in order to promote and sustain profitability, as well as client and employee satisfaction
  • Evaluation and understanding of crucial reports as it relates to producing long term Company success
  • Assist in developing annual budgets that accurately reflect expected and potential growth goals for the Branch
  • Implementation of the required goals and objectives in order to achieve proposed income goals
  • Overall awareness of the current tree care industry
  • Represent the entire Park West organization in such a way that it promotes and increases our positive reputation and good standing in our industry, as well as within our own team
  • Structure deals and negotiate with clients in order to secure contracts
  • Develop a scope of work that outlines the required services via a site inspection, and have it formatted in a neat and organized manner
  • Accurately price out tree services as they relate to tree care, removals, stump grinding, and GPS mapping
  • Prepare proposals using current Park West Tree Care bid templates
  • Diligently correspond and communicate with clients in order to facilitate current or new opportunities, as well as to follow up after the completion of contracted tree services
  • Attend board meetings to present proposals, establish relationships, and acquire new or potential jobs
  • Create PowerPoint sales presentations, and have the ability to present them to a Board of Directors, or other clients in order to secure contracts
  • Attend industry events as necessary to promote the company to clients and other professional organizations
  • Maintain the Sales and Marketing app on the Business Solutions Suite, and keep it regularly updated
  • Recruit, hire, and manage all crew members, including qualified climbers, grounds-men, and drivers to effectively run the tree care operation
  • Management of the yard where our crews will be dispatched from
  • Conduct tailgate safety meetings on a weekly basis. Complete and submit the required documentation to fulfill all OSHA regulations
  • Assist in managing and handling all tools and personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Responsible for safely setting up the crews on new properties/jobs
  • Responsible for crew safety and assure that each crew has the leadership necessary to conduct all work in a safe manner
  • Responsible for coordinating site-specific trimming in order for the crews to reach their daily production goals
  • Assist in the management, completion, and submission of timesheets for all field employees and assure they are all turned in prior to the weekly deadline
  • Notify the safety department (Safety Officer) of all incidents or accidents related to the field
  • Coordinate equipment servicing and report all necessary equipment repairs to the Fleet Service Manager
  • Responsible for accurately tracking field labor hours
  • Evaluations of each crew for quality control to confirm that each job is being completed up to standard

Qualifications/ Skills

  • Must typically be at crew dispatch in the morning. Dispatch time may vary per branch but is generally between 6 am and 7 am. Daily hours may also vary depending on customer meeting attendance
  • A minimum of 2 years experience in tree care, related field, or customer interfacing position
  • Possess a passion to coach, train, motivate, and disciplining team members, which will support career growth and development
  • Ability to speak Spanish is a plus
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and virtual meeting sources (Zoom, Teams)
  • Familiar with tree identification
  • Willingness to learn new tree care practices that will provide a high level of efficiency for our teams and customers
