BOYS SOCCER ASST COACH
CALLOWAY COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION
POSITION: ASSISTANT ATHLETIC COACH
CLASSIFICATION: EXTRA-DUTY OR PARAPROFESSIONAL
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Must meet requirement for a Level 1 or Level 2 coach as outlined in Bylaw 25 of the KHSAA Handbook.
2. Must complete all KHSAA post hire requirements for continuing coaching duties as outlined in Bylaw 25 of the KHSAA Handbook.
3. Must complete CPR/First Aid/AED training.
REPORTS TO: Head Coach
JOB GOAL: To help each participating student achieve a high level of skill, and an increased level of self-esteem. While having an appreciation for the values of discipline and learning sportsmanship.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assist the head coach in planning, conducting, and supervising the specific sport for which she/he is assigned.
2. Assist the head coach in organizing and supervising practices.
3. Assist the head coach in teaching fundamental skills, team plans, team strategy and rules and regulations of the game.
4. Conduct learning experiences, under the direction of the head coach, with small groups of student athletes.
5. Assist students by providing a proper role model, emotional support, patience, a friendly attitude and general guidance.
6. Exercise self-control at all times by setting an example of the highest degree of sportsmanship, using proper language and actions toward players.
7. Assist the head coach in issuing, maintaining, storing and keeping inventory of all equipment and supplies.
8. Assist the head coach in ascertaining that equipment, facilities, and conditions ensure the health and safety of team members in practice sessions and games.
9. Be respectful and supportive of school administration and head coach.
10. Perform related duties as assigned.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
1. Stipend - Annual Rate based on Athletic Extra Service Salary Schedule
2. Hours as assigned by Head Coach
3. Assistant Coaches shall be appointed annually, upon the recommendation of the Head Coach, Athletic Director, and Principal.
