Our client, a construction firm, is seeking a Bookkeeper/Accountant to join its growing team.

Responsibilities:

1. Manage all aspects of day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting processes including but not limited to: A/P, A/R, payroll, journal entries, AIA billing, and bank reconciliation.
2. Coordinate and execute financial transactions and activities, such as bill payment, invoicing, payroll, etc.
3. Prepare and maintain financial reports, perform account reconciliations, assist with budget and close processes, conduct internal audits, and manage balance sheets and profit/loss statements.
4. Review construction project invoices, ensure all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed, and reported.
5. Collaborate with the construction team to manage costs and improve financial efficiency.
6. Ensure compliance with state revenue service, federal and state payroll tax requirements and voluntary deduction reports, process employment verification, and respond to chargebacks.
7. Implement and adhere to company financial procedures, including reporting and budgeting.
8. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial statements for review.
9. Assist with internal and external auditing procedures.
10. Identify and address discrepancies in financial entries and reports.

Job Details

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is required.
2. 1+ years related experience, construction required.
3. Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
4. Extensive experience with data entry, record keeping, and computer operation.
5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel and QuickBooks.
6. Ability to handle confidential information in a discreet and professional manner.
7. Excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize, and comfortable working independently.
8. Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential.
