Job Objective: The ARC Bookkeeper/Accounting Clerk is responsible for processing transactions into the Shelby Systems accounting software and includes but is not limited to receipting entries, accounts payable (Check processing), journal entries, Counterpoint POS reports & daily sales reconciliations, and bank reconciliations.

- Perform full charge bookkeeping.
- Monitors compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Salvation Army Accounting processes and procedures.
- Applies principles of accounting to post journal entries, analyze financial information and prepare financial reports for ARC.
- Code, Review, and post Accounts Payable invoices.
- File check copies and related documents according to established procedures.
- Obtain W-9 forms as needed.
- Prepare Rags Sales & Vehicle Sales Report for submission to ARCC
- Assist Internal Auditor with audit preparations as needed.
- Handle the Auto Donation process.
- Prepare invoices through Shelby AR for Internal (SA Unit) and external vouchers billing, collection, and reconciliation.
- Work with Sr. Accountant and Director of Business to ensure timely month-end & year-end closing, Submit requested info promptly.
- Prepare a list of eligible vendors for ARC Command for 1099 processing at year-end.
- Match store deposit to Daily Sales and credit card postings & process CP Daily Reconciliations
- Identify incoming wire transfers and post in AR regularly. Job Description Page 2 of 3
- Preparation of Weekly gratuities.
- Maintain files on open AR and communicate with Sr. Accountant on weekly basis.
- Must be able to meet standard work hours in place, currently 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday - Friday. Occasional overtime in workday evenings or Saturdays may be required.
- Must be willing to express support for the mission statement of The Salvation Army and the Vision Statement of The Adult Rehabilitation Centers Command.
Minimum Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the minimal education, experience, certifications, skills, and/or abilities required for this position.
Education & Experience:- High School Degree required. Prefer an Accounting Certificate or 2-year associate in a related field and a minimum of two years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Excellent computer skills including MS Office.
- Position requires a confident, self-motivated, multi-tasked individual with integrity in the use of resources.
- Demonstrate ability as a team-builder and able to maintain confidentiality.
- Act in a manner consistent with the Mission Statement of The Salvation Army.
- Must be highly organized, detail-oriented (accuracy) self-starter able to meet deadlines.
- Strong Communication skills are necessary.
