Job Title: Bocce Community Manager (Blackshirt)
Location: Philadelphia, PA
Hours: 2-3 hours/week, evenings (with potential for more)
Compensation: $20/hr, Commission on New Venues

Together we build and manage thriving social leagues, local competitions, and unforgettable nights out across trivia, karaoke, and bocce. Our mission? Build a world where people connect in person every week.
About the Role
As a Bocce Community Manager (aka "Blackshirt"), you're the heartbeat of the league each week. You'll welcome players, keep score, keep the vibes high, manage the pace of play, enforce rules, and help capture photos, highlights, and community moments. You're more than a ref-you're a friendly face people look forward to seeing.
Responsibilities
Game Day Ops:
- Arrive early to set up the court (we'll provide the gear).
- Keep games on time, track scores, and ensure fair play.
- Answer questions, explain rules, and resolve disputes.
Community Engagement:
- Welcome teams, build rapport, and foster a social, inclusive vibe.
- Remind players of drink specials, theme nights, or special events.
- Communicate rain delays or other schedule changes to competitors on nights you manage.
- Encourage sign-ups for future seasons or referral rewards.
Reporting & Coordination:
- Setup the teams and schedule for each season.
- Submit final scores and highlight any standout teams or concerns.
- Communicate with league leadership for scheduling and updates.
Qualifications
- Great communicator with a welcoming, outgoing energy
- Organized and punctual-shows up early, keeps things moving
- Enjoys casual sports and building community
- Previous event, hospitality, or community organizing experience a plus
- Familiarity with bocce is a bonus (we'll train you.)
