Dreamland Academy is a nonprofit early childhood education center dedicated to serving medically complex children from birth to age 5. As the first of its kind in our region, Dreamland provides inclusive, high-quality care and early learning tailored to children with mild, moderate, and extensive medical needs. Our mission is to create a safe, nurturing, and medically supported environment where every child can thrive, regardless of their diagnosis or disability.


Position Overview

Dreamland Academy is seeking a strategic and mission-driven leader to join our Board of Directors as the Director of Development and Strategic Partnerships. This volunteer board member will be instrumental in shaping the organization's fundraising, resource development, and partnership-building efforts to ensure long-term sustainability and impact.


Key Responsibilities


• Work in close collaboration with the Board President and fellow board members to drive Dreamland's development strategy


• Cultivate and steward relationships with donors, philanthropic foundations, corporate sponsors, and community partners


• Identify and pursue grant opportunities aligned with Dreamland's mission


• Support the design and implementation of fundraising campaigns, donor engagement events, and capital initiatives


• Establish and grow strategic partnerships with hospitals, universities, corporations, and nonprofit allies


• Serve as a visible ambassador for Dreamland Academy within your networks and community


• Participate in quarterly board meetings and relevant committee work


Ideal Candidate Qualifications


• Demonstrated success in nonprofit fundraising, development, or partnership-building roles


• Strong network within the philanthropic, corporate, or healthcare sectors is highly preferred


• Passion for early childhood education, disability inclusion, and equitable healthcare access


• Collaborative, proactive, and strategic mindset


• Prior board experience is a plus but not required


• Willingness to contribute time, expertise, and financial support appropriate to your capacity


Time Commitment

Estimated 15-20 hours per month, including quarterly board meetings (virtual or in-person), committee work, and strategic initiatives.
