This is a contingent opportunity Biometric Subject Matter Expert (SME) K2 Group is in search of a Biometric SME to support the FBI's Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Division Program Resource and Standards Unit (PRSU). The FBI CJIS Division provides identification services based on fingerprints, maintains a national criminal and civil repository of fingerprint identification information, and supports and explores additional biometric modalities. Duties: Research and analyze Next Generation Identification (NGI) changes by attending scheduled Electronic Biometric Transmission Specification (EBTS) Working Group meetings, Standards meetings, and additional meetings, as required. The Contractor shall address and complete the required NGI changes in the FBI EBTS specification in all affected areas. Assist with maintaining and updating the existing FBI EBTS specification to accommodate new biometric technologies, new and changed services, and new ITL updates using Adobe InDesign Version CC 2015 or newer, as directed by the FBI. Assist the Government in updating the FBI EBTS to comply with the applicable ANSI/NIST ITL Standard. Review, evaluate, and provide guidance for applicable standards and specifications related development and processes including the ANSI/NIST ITL, the International Committee for Information Technology Standards (INCITS), and International Organization for Standardization (ISO) documents. The Contractor shall provide document review comments and ballot votes by required deadlines. Participate as committee members on the INCITS and ISO standards groups by attending additional Working Group Meetings, Ad Hoc, and Expert Group Meetings as directed by the FBI. Provide tracking and traceability of applicable biometric standards and specifications, including detailed document reviews, Action Items, and ballot votes by required deadlines. Required experience: At least five years of experience with review and evaluation of biometric data contained in a large biometric system. Experience with the ANSI NIST ITL and ISO Biometric Standards and Governing Procedures. Experience with interoperability between large biometrics systems using different specifications. Preferred experience : Experience with EBTS Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Biometrics, Forensics, or a closely related technical field, or 10 years of direct relevant experience. Master's Degree in a related technical field.
