Pride Health is hiring a Biomedical Equipment Technician I to support our client's Clinical Engineering department in Allentown, PA. This is a 13-week contract opportunity, offering competitive pay and the chance to contribute to high-impact healthcare technology services.
Job Summary:
The Biomedical Equipment Technician I will perform preventative maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of OR/Anesthesia-related medical equipment. This role supports patient safety and clinical operations by ensuring the functionality and compliance of medical devices in a dynamic hospital environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform preventive maintenance and quality assurance inspections on biomedical and OR/Anesthesia equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair defective equipment to reduce downtime and support clinical care.
- Maintain accurate device records and work order documentation.
- Participate in equipment installation, vendor service coordination, and training initiatives.
- Monitor safety alerts, recalls, and incident reports related to equipment performance.
- Provide technical support and guidance to peers and clinical staff.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and manufacturer standards.
Qualifications:
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Associate's Degree in Electronics, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field preferred
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of experience working with OR/Anesthesia medical equipment
- Experience using computerized work order systems and technical manuals
Skills & Abilities:
- Strong diagnostic, mechanical, and technical skills
- Knowledge of alternative parts sourcing and electronic testing tools
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Must be flexible and able to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
Additional Information:
- Location: Allentown, PA 18101
- Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM 40 hours/week
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Pay Rate: $40 - $45/hour
Offered pay rate will be based on education, experience, and healthcare credentials.
