POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
Directs and coordinates the planning, production and functions of the Information Services Biomedical Engineering group and processes, maintaining electronic data processing and critical patient care biomedical equipment. Responsible for coordinating the development of advance procedures to ensure the organization can respond to a disaster so that critical business functions can be resumed within a defined time frame and amount of loss minimized. Responsible for participating in any actual recovery efforts. Promotes the University Health System Customer Relation's policy
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
A Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field plus eight (8) years of information systems experience, four (4) of which are in a supervisory capacity of a programming or technical support staff is required OR Eight (8) years of related experience with four (4) years in a supervisory capacity or technical support staff is required. Four years of generally-related work experience in a leadership position in Biomedical Engineering. Knowledge of HIPAA related to Biomedical, Texas records retention laws and strong systems knowledge is required. Experience in a supervisory capacity is required. System analysis experience and project management is preferred. Experience in multiple vendor and platform environments is preferred. Knowledge of healthcare automated systems preferred
