Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Bioinformatics Software Engineer with a solid foundation in Python programming and expertise in bioinformatics tools to join our dynamic team. You will play a key role in developing and optimizing software solutions to support cutting-edge research and data analysis in bioinformatics and computational biology.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain bioinformatics software tools and pipelines for analyzing genomic, proteomic, and other biological data.

• Optimize existing bioinformatics workflows to improve performance and scalability.

• Collaborate with scientists, researchers, and cross-functional teams to understand requirements and translate them into software solutions.

• Integrate and utilize bioinformatics databases and frameworks in software development.

• Perform large-scale data analysis using Python and bioinformatics software tools.

• Troubleshoot, debug, and maintain bioinformatics tools and systems.

• Stay up-to-date with the latest trends, technologies, and methodologies in bioinformatics and computational biology.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, or a related field.

• 5+ years of experience in bioinformatics software development in an industry setting.

• Proficiency in Python programming and libraries commonly used in bioinformatics (e.g., Biopython, Pandas, NumPy).

• Hands-on experience with bioinformatics tools (e.g., BLAST, GATK, SAMtools, Bowtie, or others).

• Familiarity with working in high-performance computing (HPC) environments.
