The Billing Representative for the Records Release Team is responsible for managing and processing correspondence from attorneys, including subpoenas and requests for patient billing records. This role ensures that all records are released in compliance with legal, regulatory, and organizational policies while maintaining a high level of accuracy and confidentiality. The ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and a strong understanding of billing processes and legal documentation requirements. Key Responsibilities: + Stay current on legal and regulatory changes that may impact the release of billing records. + Review, process, and respond to subpoenas, attorney correspondence, and requests for patient billing records in a timely and accurate manner. + Ensure compliance with federal and state laws, including HIPAA, and organizational policies regarding the release of patient information. + Verify the authenticity and completeness of legal documents before processing requests. + Collaborate with internal teams to retrieve and compile accurate billing records and other required documentation. + Maintain detailed records of all requests, correspondence, and released information for audit and tracking purposes. + Communicate effectively with attorneys, legal representatives, and other external parties to clarify requests or provide updates on the status of records. + Safeguard sensitive patient information and ensure confidentiality in all interactions and document handling. + Identify and escalate complex or unclear requests to appropriate leadership or legal counsel for resolution. + Contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy in handling records requests. Required Qualifications: + High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) + Ability to execute processes efficiently and maintain highest level of quality + Demonstrates ability to identify and communicate issues + Computer literacy skills, including Excel spreadsheets and Microsoft Office products + Enhanced communication and customer service skills For this US-based position, the base pay range is $17.18 - $28.52 per hour . Individual pay is determined by role, level, location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
